Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms cover your use of mechanicboost.com and any services you buy from us. By using our website or signing up, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or our services.
1. About us
Mechanic Boost is a trading name of Somexposure LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15733479). Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Email: info@mechanicboost.com.
“We”, “us” and “our” mean Somexposure LTD. “You” means the business using our website or buying our services.
2. Using our website
- You can use our website to find out about our services, contact us, ask for a quote or apply for a plan.
- Don’t misuse it: no hacking, spamming, scraping, or uploading anything harmful or illegal.
- We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will always be error-free or online.
- The content on this website (text, designs, logos and images) belongs to us or the people who gave us permission to use it. Don’t copy it without asking.
3. Our services
We build and run websites and online tools for mechanics and garages. Depending on your plan, this can include:
- website design and build
- hosting and maintenance
- search engine optimisation (SEO)
- an all-in-one inbox, forms, automated follow-ups and booking calendars
- tracking, payments and other tools
What’s included in each plan, and its price, is shown on our website or in the quote we send you. If the two differ, your quote applies.
4. Getting started
- Apply or ask for a quote. We’ll check your plan is a good fit. We can turn down an application.
- Onboarding. You give us the information and content we need (your logo, photos, services, opening hours and so on).
- Build. Most websites are ready within 10–12 working days of us receiving everything we need from you. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Delays in getting content from you will push it back.
- Review and go live. We show you the website, make reasonable changes you ask for, then publish it.
5. Fees and payment
- Your first month is free. The free month starts on the day your website goes live.
- We ask for your card details when you sign up, but we won’t charge anything during your free month. If you cancel before it ends, you pay nothing.
- After the free month, your plan is paid monthly in advance, starting automatically on the day your free month ends.
- Payment is taken by card through Stripe.
- The free month is for new clients only, one per business.
- We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.
- If a payment fails, we’ll let you know. If it’s still unpaid 14 days later, we may pause your services until it’s paid.
- We may change our prices. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email, and you can cancel before the new price starts.
- Extra work that isn’t part of your plan will be quoted separately. We’ll only do it once you agree the price.
6. No long contracts, and cancelling
- There’s no minimum contract. You can cancel at any time by emailing info@mechanicboost.com.
- Your services carry on until the end of the month you’ve already paid for, then stop. We won’t charge you again, but we don’t refund part-months.
- When your plan ends:
- We’ll take your website and connected tools offline.
- Because the website design is included free with your plan, it stays ours. If you’d like to keep it, you can buy it for a one-off fee of £499. We’ll then give you a copy of your website to host wherever you like. Tools that run on our systems (such as the inbox, forms, booking calendar and automated messages) don’t transfer.
- Your domain name is yours. If we registered it for you as part of your plan, it’s registered in your business’s name, and we’ll transfer it to you free of charge on request.
- We’ll give you a copy of your own content (text, photos and contacts) if you ask within 30 days. After that, we may delete it.
- We may end your services with 30 days’ notice for any reason, or straight away if you seriously break these terms (for example, not paying or using our services illegally).
7. Your responsibilities
- Your content: you must own, or have permission to use, everything you give us (text, logos, photos, reviews). You’re responsible for it being accurate and legal.
- Accurate information: keep your contact and billing details up to date.
- Messages to your customers: if we send emails or texts to your customers for you (e.g. follow-ups or reminders), you’re responsible for having their permission where the law requires it, and for including opt-outs. We’ll set up the tools to help you do this.
- Logins: keep any logins we give you safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them.
- Fair use: don’t use our services to send spam, or for anything illegal or harmful.
8. Who owns what
- Your content (your logo, photos, text, customer lists) stays yours. You give us permission to use it to provide our services.
- The website design, code and templates we create stay ours. While your plan is active, you can use them for your business. If you leave, you can buy your website design for a one-off fee (see section 6).
- Third-party tools (such as WordPress plugins, HighLevel and stock images) are covered by their own licences.
- We may show your website in our portfolio and marketing. If you’d rather we didn’t, just tell us.
9. Hosting, fixes and backups
- We host your website and keep its software up to date.
- If something breaks, report it to info@mechanicboost.com and we’ll fix it as soon as we reasonably can, normally within 48 hours.
- We take regular backups, but we can’t guarantee the website will never go down or lose data, because hosting companies and other services can have problems outside our control.
10. Results
We build websites and run SEO to help you get more enquiries, and we’ll always do our best. But search rankings and customer numbers depend on things we don’t control, such as Google, your competitors and your local market. So we can’t guarantee specific results, rankings or a number of enquiries. SEO usually takes 3 to 6 months to show real results.
11. Other companies’ services
Some services rely on other companies, such as HighLevel (inbox, forms, messages), our web host, domain registrars, payment providers, Google and social media platforms. We’re not responsible for their problems, outages or changes, but we’ll help you work around them where we can.
12. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
- We’re not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost business, lost data or damage to reputation.
- Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
13. Data protection
- How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
- When we handle your customers’ personal information for you (for example through your inbox, forms or messages), we act as your “processor” under UK GDPR. The full terms for this are in Schedule 1: Data processing below. They form part of these terms, so you agree to them when you sign up.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change affects your plan, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. The latest version is always on this page.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales handle any disputes. If you have a problem, please email us first. Most things can be sorted out quickly.
Schedule 1: Data processing
This schedule applies when we handle personal information about your customers, enquirers or staff while providing our services. In this schedule, you’re the controller and we’re your processor, as those words are used in UK GDPR.
1. What we process
- Purpose: to provide the services in your plan, such as your website forms, inbox, booking calendar, and automated emails and texts.
- Types of information: names, contact details (phone, email, address), vehicle details (such as registration numbers and MOT or service dates), messages, booking details, and anything else your customers send through our tools.
- Whose information: your customers, enquirers, website visitors and staff.
- How long: for as long as your plan is active, plus the time it takes to return or delete it (point 9).
2. Only on your instructions. We’ll only use the information to provide our services to you, as these terms and your settings describe, or as you otherwise ask us in writing. If we think an instruction breaks data protection law, we’ll tell you. If the law requires us to do something else with it, we’ll tell you first, unless the law forbids that.
3. Confidentiality. Everyone at Mechanic Boost who can access the information is bound to keep it confidential.
4. Security. We keep the information safe with appropriate security measures, including secure (HTTPS) connections, access only for people who need it, strong passwords and login protection, and trusted, reputable suppliers.
5. Other companies we use (sub-processors). You agree that we can use other companies to help provide our services. Currently these are HighLevel (LeadConnector), for the inbox, forms, calendar and messaging, Hostinger, for website hosting, and Stripe, if you take payments through us. We’ll tell you before we add or replace one, so you can object. Each one is bound by data protection terms at least as strict as these. We’re responsible for their work as if it were our own.
6. Outside the UK. Some sub-processors, such as HighLevel, store information in the United States. Where information leaves the UK, we make sure it’s protected by a lawful transfer method, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
7. Helping you. We’ll help you, where we reasonably can, to:
- respond to your customers’ requests to see, correct or delete their information. If we receive a request directly, we’ll pass it to you.
- keep the information secure, and deal with any data protection assessments or questions from the ICO.
8. Data breaches. If we become aware of a breach affecting your customers’ information, we’ll tell you without undue delay, and in any case within 48 hours. We’ll give you the details you need to decide whether to report it to the ICO, which you’d need to do within 72 hours.
9. When your plan ends. Within 30 days, we’ll return the information to you (for example, as a contact export) if you ask, then delete it from our systems, unless the law requires us to keep it.
10. Checks. We’ll give you the information you reasonably need to show that we’re meeting these obligations, and we’ll cooperate with reasonable checks, with reasonable notice.
11. Your responsibilities. You’re responsible for having a lawful reason to collect and use your customers’ information, for telling them how it’s used (in your own privacy policy), and for having their consent where the law requires it, for example for marketing texts and emails.
