Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Mechanic Boost collects, why, and what your rights are. We’ve kept it as plain as we can.

1. Who we are

Mechanic Boost is a trading name of Somexposure LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15733479). Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

We’re the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide how it’s used and we’re responsible for looking after it.

Contact us about privacy: info@mechanicboost.com

2. What we collect

When you fill in a form on our website (Contact Us, Get a Quote, Apply for the Value Programme or our onboarding form), we collect what you type in. That’s usually:

  • your name
  • your email address and phone number
  • your business name, industry and website (if you have one)
  • the services you’re interested in, and any message you send us

When you book a call through our booking calendar, we collect your name, contact details and the time you chose.

When you talk to us by email, phone, text, WhatsApp or social media, we keep a record of those conversations.

If you become a client, we also collect what we need to run your account: billing details, the content you give us for your website (logos, photos, text), and logins you share with us for your website or online accounts.

Technical information: like most websites, our site and its security tools record basic technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you looked at. We use this to keep the site running and secure.

We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we don’t ask for sensitive information (such as health data).

3. How we use it, and our legal reasons

Data protection law says we need a legal reason (“lawful basis”) for each way we use your information:

What we doOur legal reason
Reply to your enquiry, send you a quote, or check if you’re eligible for a planSteps before a contract: you asked us to
Arrange and hold calls you’ve bookedSteps before a contract
Build and run your website and services, and bill youContract: we need to, to deliver what you signed up for
Follow up on an enquiry you made, if we haven’t heard backLegitimate interests: it’s reasonable to follow up on something you asked about. You can tell us to stop at any time.
Send you marketing emails or texts (tips, offers, news)Consent: only if you’ve agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Keep our website and systems secure, and stop spamLegitimate interests
Keep financial records and meet our legal dutiesLegal obligation

4. Marketing

We’ll only send you marketing emails or texts if you’ve agreed to them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text. You can also email info@mechanicboost.com. Messages about an enquiry you made, or about your account, aren’t marketing.

5. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your information. We share it only with companies that help us run our business, and only what they need:

  • HighLevel (LeadConnector): our customer system. It runs our forms, booking calendar, inbox, and email and text messages.
  • Hostinger: hosts our website and our business email.
  • Stripe: takes our clients’ payments. We don’t see or store full card numbers.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: checks that form submissions come from real people, not spam bots.
  • Our accountants and professional advisers, when they need it to do their job.
  • Police, courts or regulators, if the law requires us to.

These companies may only use your information to provide their service to us.

6. Information sent outside the UK

Some of these companies, such as HighLevel, are based in the United States or store data there. When that happens, we make sure your information is protected, for example by using the UK government’s approved data transfer agreements or the UK–US “data bridge”. Email us if you’d like more details.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t go further: up to 2 years after we last heard from you, then deleted.
  • Clients: for as long as you’re a client, then 6 years after you leave, because tax and accounting law requires it.
  • Marketing list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep just enough to make sure we don’t contact you again.
  • Security logs: usually a few weeks.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • see the information we hold about you (a “subject access request”)
  • correct anything that’s wrong
  • delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it
  • object to, or limit, how we use it
  • take your information to another provider, where that applies
  • withdraw consent at any time, if we’re relying on it (e.g. for marketing)

To use any of these rights, email info@mechanicboost.com. We’ll reply within one month. It’s free in most cases.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

9. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Our website only uses cookies it needs to work and to stay secure (for example, security cookies from our firewall, Wordfence). These don’t need your consent.

Our booking calendar and some forms are provided by HighLevel, and they may set their own cookies needed to work.

10. Keeping it safe

We use secure connections (HTTPS), a website firewall, limits on login attempts and restricted access to our systems. Only people who need your information to do their job can see it.

11. Our clients’ customers

When we run websites, inboxes or messages for our clients (for example a garage’s customer enquiries), we handle their customers’ information on our client’s behalf, under a data processing agreement. In that case the client is the “controller” and their own privacy policy applies. Contact the business directly about it, or email us and we’ll pass your request on.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
